Soucy Defense and Supacat, a highly respected developer of high-mobility defence vehicles, have engaged in a strategic teaming agreement since March 2020. This partnership is aimed at leveraging the strengths of both companies to enhance their logistical support to military forces worldwide. With Soucy Defense headquartered in Quebec, Canada, and Supacat based in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia, this collaboration marks an important transatlantic alliance in the defence industry.
As two major companies within the defence market, Soucy Defense and Supacat have always worked closely together. After much deliberation, both companies determined that a formal teaming agreement would be highly beneficial. The agreement, first established in 2020, allows for streamlined collaboration and improved support for military customers.
Both companies are global, and the partnership capitalizes on their geographic presence. Soucy Defense, based in Canada, has potential customers in the UK market, making Supacat’s base in the South of England a strategic advantage. Additionally, Supacat’s facility in Melbourne, Australia, provided an essential foothold when the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) requested Soucy’s track technology for several of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) tracked vehicles.
The agreement proved invaluable in January 2025, during the conversion of several of the ADFs AS4 and ALV vehicles from steel tracks to Soucy’s Composite Rubber Tracks (CRT). A joint team from both companies conducted the conversion, with Supacat playing a crucial role in arranging workshop space, ensuring the availability of necessary tools, and managing logistical requirements. Having Supacat’s presence in Australia streamlined the process, demonstrating the effectiveness of their partnership.
As part of the conversion, the ADF had requested operator training for soldiers on the new CRT technology as part of Soucy’s Integrated Logistic Package. Given Supacat’s geographic proximity and established relationship with the military customer, it was more effective to leverage the teaming agreement, allowing Supacat to take the lead in delivering training directly to the soldiers. This hands-on approach ensured that the ADF personnel received expert guidance, reinforcing the effectiveness of CRT technology on-site.

Looking to the future, Soucy Defense and Supacat are eager to expand their collaboration into new defence projects. One such potential opportunity is the training of the Commonwealth soldiers who will operate the AS21 Redback IFV, a highly advanced armored fighting vehicle that has recently been selected by the Australian Defence Force as a replacement for their M113 AS4 vehicles and will be equipped with Soucy’s Composite Rubber Track technology. Given Supacat’s established presence in Australia, their expertise and local support would be instrumental in delivering effective training and immediate support, locally. By working together on such a project, both companies would continue to provide cutting-edge training solutions and ensure the Commonwealth maximise the benefits of this advanced technology.
The partnership between Soucy Defense and Supacat underscores the importance of international cooperation in the defence sector. By combining their expertise, both companies can offer military customers advanced training solutions that enhance the soldier’s operational effectiveness across various terrains and combat scenarios. This collaboration is a testament to their shared values of quality, reliability, and customer-centric mindset.
As the defence industry continues to evolve, partnerships like this one highlight the importance of collaboration between like-minded companies. Through their combined expertise and strategic positioning, Soucy Defense and Supacat are poised to deliver further superior training solutions that can enhance militaries and support their training needs across the globe.
